Our voice - low cost PA systems

Our voice is a project that aims to develop and distribute low cost PA systems to underprivileged schools and NGOs. The purpose of a public address system is to amplify sound. A typical public address system consists of a microphone, amplifier and speaker, it can cost anywhere between INR 10,000 – INR 100,000. Given his passion for engineering and technology and most importantly giving back to society, Ishaan put my scientific skills to use and developed a PA system costing under INR 1200. This PA system can be carried around by teachers while teaching and can also be used for emergency announcements. This portable PA system is very useful as Delhi lies in the seismic zone and is very prone to earthquakes. Ishaan raised funds in order to distribute these systems to NGOs and underprivileged schools.

Sound limitor - a social project

Given the global noise pollution crisis that is leading to hearing problems, psychological issues and sleep irregularities, Ishaan conducted a research project into the different types of noise limiters for public address systems. He developed a prototype for an attenuating sound limiter – a device that can be put in public address systems and the maximum volume can be set on it so as to limit maximum sound level.  

Cycle charger

Ishaan developed a dynamo-enabled device that used the mechanical energy generated by a cycle and transferred it into electrical energy to charge phones. He developed this product under the cost of $10 which is much lower than anything available in the market. He aims to launch this product into the market after his IB exams. He aims to target Rickshaw pullers in India as his main market, as they cycle for about 7-8 hours a day and this device could be extremely useful for them. 

F1 in schools

Ishaan was the design engineer for his team (Team Ignite) from 2019-2021. Their team got through regionals and participated in the nationals championship. Post this success, Ishaan mentored students participating in F1 in schools from 2022-2024. He helped them understand the basics of 3D design.
