Ishaans first internship was at Ahuja radios, the largest manufacturer of public address systems in India. In the 2 months that he interned here, Ishaan learnt the basics of sound engineering and wrote a research paper on noise limiters under the guidance of a sound engineer Mr Anil Lal. He wrote a research paper titled ‘Control of Noise Pollution by Sound Limiters’. Given the chaotic nature of the world today, noise pollution is a prevalent issue, especially in large metropolitan cities such as Delhi. He focused on the noise pollution caused by public address systems – amplifiers and large speakers, and the different types of noise limiters that exist. He critically evaluated two types – attenuating type and cut-off type and made a new prototype with the help of some sound engineers.
Ishaan interned at a non-banking financial corporation, DMI finance for 2 weeks. He worked under the guidance of Mr Puneet Kakker in the investment fund department. He understood the need for and growth of NBFCs in India. Additionally, he learned how to draft financial statements and about REITs (Real estate investment trust).
As a part of his school’s work experience programme, Ishaan represented the TBS community at an agritech startup called Sorted – a tech platform that enables access of quality fruits and vegetables straight-from-the-farmer to the end customer. By working at a startup, he understood how a company is built from the ground and the effort that goes into it.
